From Mascot to Coach: Why Cheering Others On is in My DNA
From high school mascot to executive coach, I’ve always been fueled by cheering on others. Coaching, to me, is about more than performance — it’s about helping leaders believe in themselves, reset their priorities, and create success on their own terms.
Cheer
One thing you may not know about me: I was my high school mascot.
The Garrett Railroaders.
Big shoes. Big head. Waving pom-poms. Cheering up and down the sidelines.
I even tried to do push-ups — though with a giant mascot head, it usually hit the ground first before I made much progress.
I loved every minute of it.
Sports were always part of my world. My dad coached football, basketball, track, and softball throughout his career in education. Maybe coaching is in the genes.
What I know for sure is this: I love seeing people push through challenges others might think are impossible. And I love cheering leaders on as they work hard to reset, find clarity, and win in ways that matter most.
That’s why stepping fully into executive coaching feels so natural. It’s always been in me — and now I get to live it out loud as my profession. Helping my clients claim clarity, reset priorities, and build success on their own terms gives me the same rush as being on the sidelines or in the stands.
Because coaching is cheering. It’s believing in someone before they believe in themselves. It’s pushing them when they’re tired and celebrating when they break through.
And now, I’m bringing that same energy to The Executive Reset — helping leaders stop running on fumes and start leading with clarity. Because your work matters. And so does your life.
